Hello, and welcome to the course “Shifting the Lens: Practical Applications of Trauma-Informed Care.”
This course aims to help identify and define trauma and traumatic events, as well as shine a light on the prevalence of trauma in today’s world and equip you with tools to help mitigate a traumatic response or behavior.

This course is broken down into 6 modules of various lengths, each with a corresponding knowledge check to assess your understanding as you move through the course contents. Points of reflection are also included to allow space to stop and look back on what you have learned.

The goal of this course is to develop your understanding of trauma, how to appropriately engage with an individual who has experienced trauma, understand the process behind a traumatic reaction, the essence of trauma-informed engagement, and recognize secondary traumatic stress.
